Fisher-Price Mega Bloks® Review
When you first think of kids building blocks, you might think of Legos. This is true since Legos are the number one Toy industry on the market. The problem is that Legos are not great for smaller children. Small legos can be a choking hazard for toddlers but a building toy would be great for children of this age. This is where the Mega Bloks come in.
The Fisher-Price Mega Bloks are a much bigger individual blocks than Legos. This is wonderful for little kids. Toddlers can begin to stack these Mega Bloks into whatever they want to without risk of small pieces entering your child’s mouth. Both my kids have used the Mega Bloks when they were very young and still like to build with them today.

Parts and Construction
When you open the bag of blocks, you can instantly get started. No worries about any additional parts or construction. The only construction that will go on will be the building that your kid does. Pour them all out of the bag and let them play and construct whatever they are will to make from their imagination.
Just remember not to throw away the bag. It can be used for storage. More on that later.

How it Plays
You get 80 pieces of various blocks like you would in other Lego sets. All these pieces are in different shapes and sizes to build different things. There are a bunch of pieces that are the same because they build a foundation that is needed to build big solid block towers. There are plenty of 3×2 blocks and 4×2 blocks to go around to build the things they want.
The things you can build vary upon your child’s imagination. For very young children, you might need to guide them on how to get started building. Stacking blocks up might be a foreign concept for very young kids so helping them out starting to build might be necessary. Kids 2 years and up should have no issues starting to build things.
We have a older version of the Mega Bloks. You can see notice the color changes in the blocks versus the more current version of the Mega Bloks that you see on Amazon. The version my kids are using doesn’t have a dark purple or green blocks. There is also another version that has other standard colors. Feel free to pick up the version that is right for your kids.

Cleanup and Storage
The great thing about Mega Bloks is that they clean up as fast as they come out. All you have to do is put them back into the bag and zip it up. I accidentally threw away the bag ours came in a while back so we store our Mega Bloks in a small toy container. This works just as fine if you don’t feel like keeping the bag the Mega Bloks come with. The bag is not the most aesthetic looking bag so if you prefer a container that goes with your room style, that’s totally your call.
This is even a simple cleanup for your kids. Just put them in your chosen container and put them away – easy peasy. Couldn’t be an easier toy to clean up. Just make sure you keep all the pieces together. I’m not the kid of dad who likes to search for toys and I bet you aren’t either.

Overview
These are great starter block for your little children to start building with. At some times I actually prefer these block over Legos because they are easy to find and they don’t get everywhere when kids start playing with them. You can build very big towers of things because the blocks are much bigger than the much smaller Legos.
Buy an additional bag or the Deluxe version of 150 Mega Bloks to build huge insane structures your kids will enjoy building and destroying.
